Volunteer Activity Management Programme (VAMP)

The Devon Consortium has successfully been awarded a grant to deliver support for the development of volunteers and  volunteering in small-medium sized voluntary/community groups in ‘hard to reach’communities across Devon.

The Volunteer Activity Management Programme (VAMP), funded by Capacitybuilders and delivered by TTVS on behalf of DACVS, will identify and groups equip those individuals within these who act as volunteer ‘managers’ with the skills and tools that they need to recruit and retain more volunteers; to make the volunteering experience within their organisations as rewarding as it can be; and to help their organisations develop best practice with regards to volunteer management. Hard to reach communities are rural communities where access to support services are more limited and deprived ‘priority’ communities (i.e. high levels of unemployment). This supports Devon LAA priority action 16 to “Promote active, empowered and influential communities”.

In addition, VAMP will also raise knowledge and awareness of good practice amongst members of staff in statutory agencies who involve volunteers.

The project will deliver this support through an awareness raising campaign, development of good practice toolkits and ‘one-to-one’ outreach support with target community and voluntary groups.
