Working together through the Compact – local government, local public bodies and the voluntary and community sector in Devon are improving their relationship for mutual advantage and community gain.
The aim of the Compact for Devon is to improve and develop the relationship between the voluntary & community and statutory sectors in Devon. Following wide consultation, the Compact for Devon was revised and published in 2005.
Our Compact sets out the principles between the local government, public bodies and its voluntary and community sector partners who are jointly committed to providing good services for Devon residents.
The Compact also aims to promote good practice in the way we work together through the Codes of Practice. Local Compacts are crucial to local relationships and are becoming the benchmark for improving them.
